About the materials
Marble and granite are natural stones, while quartz is manufactured. In the manufacturing process of quartz, pigments are added to change its colour and it is the material with the widest colour selection. On the other hand, marble and granite colours are limited to ones found in nature- but they are more unique then quartz, whose patterns are generic. Granite is well known to hold up great against high temperatures, you can even put a hot pan on it, and it will not damage. However, you should use mats with quartz and marble worktops- they also resist heat well, but not as good as granite.
Quartz has been known as the material that needs the least maintenance. It doesn’t need sealing, unlike marble and granite. You should seal granite worktops every 6-12 months, while marble should be sealed every 3-6 months. All three are easily cleaned with just soap and water.
The durability of all three is unmatched- they are strong and hard and will not break or crack easily. However, marble is more prone to scratching then quartz or granite. It is softer and more porous. Quartz has a completely non-porous surface, which makes it almost impossible to stain.
All in all, you will not make a bad choice with either one of them; it is just up to you too vague your preferences.
